Helen Boyd (2007) She's Not the Man I Married: My Life with a Transgender Husband. - - Helen does an excellent job of speaking about her experience being the partner of a transwoman who began her transition later in life. This book is in a narrative form.
Arlene Istar Lev (2004) Transgender Emergence: Therapeutic Guidelines for Working with Gender-Variant People and their Families. - Arlene is a respected therapist who has done a large amount of work focusing on transgender individuals. While this book is focused for clinicians, it is perfect for use to gain further knowledge in transgender topics.
Keith Nichols & John Jenkinson (2006) Leading a Support Group: A Practical Guide. This book by Nichols and Jenkinson was a major tool in my work creating this workshop. It provides an excellent source of information centered toward the individual choosing to lead a support group.
Sandra Samons (2009) When the Opposite Sex Isn't: Sexual Orientation in Male-to-Female Transgender People. - The subject of sexual orientation is always a controversial topic when it comes to transitioning. People tend to assume that gender and orientation are heavily linked. Sandra makes some excellent points about sexual orientation.
